At 16, Cyntoia Brown was tried as an adult and sentenced to life in prison for killing a man who bought her for sex in 2004.
Now she's 29, she's still in prison but social media has brought her story to the limelight and people have began a campaign to have her freed.
It is reported that Brown, who is from Nashville, was kidnapped and forced into child sex slavery by a pedophile. She was forced to shoot one of her clients before escaping from the human trafficking network, but she was arrested by police for the murder of the 43-year-old pedophile and tried in court as an adult.
She was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison at 16yrs.
During her 13yrs in prison, Cyntoia has graduated from Lipscomb University with an Associates Degree. She's now working on her Bachelors while working side by side with the courts and the Juvenile Justice system as an unpaid consultant.
Celebrities like Rihanna and Kim Kardashian have now raised their voices to the campaign to have her freed.
