President Buhari Throws Out Nigerian Peace Corps Bill, Refuses To Sign The Bill Into Implementation


As the Nigerian Peace Corps fights the Nigeria Police to clear its national secretariat, the lawfulness of the association may have keep running into inconvenience as the President has not consented to its foundation bill, which was transmitted to him last year December.

Reports gotten from equipped sources uncovers that President Muhammadu Buhari, clearly bowing to security exhortation, has not added his sign to the NPC Establishment Bill, which was authoritatively sent to him by the Clerk of the National Assembly, Mr. Sani Omolori, in the last week of  December 2017 and that the 30-day window under, which the president should sign a bill properly transmitted to him elapsed on January 31, 2018.

By implication, the Presidency has tossed out the NPC bill.

A top government official acquainted with the issue, affirmed that the President couldn't have consented to the NPC bill on the grounds that there was no requirement for such an outfit under the Nigerian security architecture. The source stated,

“By implication the bill has been rejected by Mr. President since he did not sign it into law within the stipulated 30 working days". 
“By law, the Nigerian Peace Corps Bill will not fly in Nigeria as the President has not appended his signature to it within the period prescribed by law,” the official explained".

Meanwhile, the police have also refused to quit the headquarters of the NPC despite repeated court orders.
