Policemen Steals Bags Of Garri From Traders- Rivers Police And Bayelsa Police Disagrees On Which Command To Take Responsibility


Policemen made away with four bags of garri from two market traders at Mbiama, the border community between Rivers State and Bayelsa State on Tuesday according to reports. 

Rivers State Police Command and Bayelsa State Police Command have disagreed on which command should be held responsible for the shameful act of stealing garri by Policemen of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad. 
On Thursday, the Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Police Command Nnamdi Omoni disowned the policemen saying men of their command could not have engaged in such unethical act. He said: 
"The allegation is neither here nor there. How can a policemen steal garri? Such an allegation is wrong. Our men are trained and we observe that they maintain professionalism in all the do".
The Bayelsa State Public Relations Officer Bustwart Asinim also absorb their own state command of Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad of any wrong doing, he said:
"Mbiama is not in Bayelsa, it is in Rivers. Our men won't go to Mbiama to operate. Get in touch with the Rivers Command. Even if they are not Policemen men, it happened in their own jurisdiction.
