SS1 Female Stabs Classmate In The Eye Over Refusal To Join Cult In Bayelsa State


A suspected female cultist and her gang members have allegedly damaged the right eye of one Miss Lilian Friday, who is an SS1 student of Community Secondary School Otuoke, in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The incident occurred yesterday evening at Otuoke community. The suspected cultist identified as Josephine, also an SS1 student of the same secondary school is said to have been mounting pressure and persuading her victim to joint her cult group which she (victim) declined persistently.

According to the victim's uncle Mr. Benson,  Miss Lilian was attacked late yesterday while returning from his place. She met her class mate on the way who insisted that she must belong to her cult group, her persistent refusal provoked the suspected cultist Miss Josephine and she vowed to disfigure Lillian's face.
Consequently, the two classmates started fighting, and then suspect alerted her gang members, who came along and had the victim held to the ground, stabbed her right eye and then took off.


Reports has it that the suspected cultist is a native of Ayakoro & Otuokpoti Communities, Ogbia Local Government Area, while the victim is a native of Emeyal 1 and Otuobhi communities all in Ogbia Local Government, Bayelsa State.

Meanwhile, the victim is presently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in Bayelsa State, there are indications that she might certainly have an eye surgery in the process.

However, efforts to get the suspected have not been successful, as the Otuoke community is yet to grant arrest warrant to the parents of the victim, it is against their Practices for one to make arrest in the community without the approval of its leadership.
